Da diese beiden 7. Klassen (7C und 7 D) ihre Sprach-Intensivwochen
nach Frankreich bzw. Italien unternehmen organisierten wir – um
auch die Kompetenz in Englisch zu schulen – eine Woche „Englisch
total“ mit Native Speakers aus Canterbury, UK.

Feedback to this activity:
English in Action is an educational organisation specialising
in short English courses in schools. It was a cost-effective
alternative to a language course
abroad as native speakers came to Austria to teach at our school. In other
words, the students “had their cake and ate it too”.
EiA sent 4 qualified teachers from the United Kingdom to teach English courses
in 7 C and 7 D for one week. The thought of 6 lessons of English per day made
the students heave a sigh at first. However, they soon realized that the courses
focused on the use of the English language, on teamwork and first and foremost
on fun. Lessons included conversation, vocabulary work, games and videos as
well as enough time to prepare the final show at the end of the week. A lot
of enthusiasm,
creativity, fancy costumes and last-minute acting training were the main ingredients
of hilarious and brilliant sketches performed in the big hall on Friday.

What the participants
thought:
Alice, Sopie, Melek, Astrid and Hicran:
“…
Most of the students thought that the project was beneficial as it helped to
improve their English by enriching it with new vocabulary and phrases, to speak
more fluently, and to present themselves much better than before the project. ……
The topics have been well chosen with regard to their importance in daily
life. They helped us talk more easily and fluently and to express our own
opinions
more clearly.”
Nadja:
“
The teachers were really open and friendly …”
Anna:
“
I liked best that we had only English in this week …”
Carla:
“
The activities were fun and interesting … “
Raphaela:
“

Lisa:
“ I would recommend it because you learn a lot and it was also funny.”
